Nous partons à 8 h par un temps calme et ensoleillé. Nous allons d’abord est pour sortir de la grande baie où se trouvent Agia Efimia et Sami puis tournons sud. Le vent se lève un peu droit dans le nez, nous allons donc au moteur. Nous passons devant Poros et Scala. Arrivé au coin sud –est de Céphalonie qu’il faut prendre large parce qu’il y a des rochers, nous tournons ouest … et avons toujours le vent dans le nez. Plus tard dans l’après-midi, le vent tourne un peu et nous faisons de la voile pendant deux heures. Le soleil a disparu et nous arrivons à Argostoli par un temps gris. Nous nous mettons le long du quai, il y a de la place, il n’y a que quelques yachts au quai. Le quai aux beaux pavements est tout en travaux, il fait gris et la ville parait vide, tout cela est un peu tristounet. Nous dinons à la même taverna que l’autre fois, la nourriture est bonne, bien grecque et sans les sempiternelles frites. La jeune patronne nous dit qu’en ses 28 années d’existence, c’est la première fois qu’elle porte des manches longues en mai ! A la table voisine, un jeune homme commande une salade et explique qu’il est végétarien. Je lui conseille le plat de fèves. Et nous commençons à discuter. Il est anglais et vient passer quelques jours en Grèce pour finir d’écrire un livre. Nous parlons de tout, de Brexit (il est contre), de l’Angleterre, de la Norvège … Le temps passes vite et nous invitons Paul, c’est son nom, à prendre un verre sur Hera II. Encore une rencontre intéressante.

We leave at 8 am in calm and sunny weather. First we go east to get out of the big bay where Agia Efimia and Sami are and then turn south. The wind raises a little but straight in the nose, so we are motoring. We pass Poros and Scala. Arrived at the southeastern corner of Cephalonia, which must be taken wide because there are rocks, we turn west ... and still have the wind in the nose. Later in the afternoon, the wind turns a bit and we sail for two hours. The sun is gone and we arrive at Argostoli under big clouds. We put Hera II alongside the quay, there is room, they are only a few yachts at the dock. The quay with beautiful pavements is under work, it is gray and the city seems empty, all this doesn’t give a very optimistic picture. We dine at the same taverna that the other time, the food is good, very Greek and without the omnipresent fries. The young boss tells us that in her 28 years of existence, this is the first time she wears long sleeves in May! At the next table, a young man orders a salad and explains that he is a vegetarian. I recommend him the dish of beans. And we start to talk together. He is English and comes to spend a few days in Greece to finish writing a book. We talk about everything, Brexit (he is against), England, Norway ... Time passes quickly and we invite Paul, it's his name, to have a drink on Hera II. Another interesting meeting.
