Dimanche/Sunday 05.05.2019. Port Kalamos
Sans vouloir me
stillestund puis Jens bricole encore.

The wind blew hard last night, with strong gusts and a
rope was making an annoying noise against the mast. I got up twice to fix it
but each time, the noise stopped when I was close to the mast. This morning
after breakfast I went to pick a bouquet of wildflowers to give to Anna who has
her birthday today. And I must admit, in all modesty, that I made a beautiful bouquet.
I spend time there and when I come back, I see their yacht already on the other
side of the dyke, they have left. Too bad. It's gray and mild. Jens tinkers a
bit and then we go for a walk. We leave the village to the south, turn to the
mountain and go all around the village on the mountain side. Port Kalamos must
have been quite an important place before
but many houses are closed now, and the 1953 earthquake had done significant
damage her. It starts to rain and we shelter under an old olive tree. We go
back, lunch and stillestund then Jens works again. He is making a box for the
gas bottles in the hole at the front of the boat where the anchor chain is, and
I make the blog. Second walk in the late afternoon, the weather is a bit better,
towards the mill on the beach but even Jens doesn’t talk about bathing. We are
having dinner in the cafeteria in the middle of the village, held by a nice
young couple and we are in good company, the priest is among the customers.

I pick up broken glass and throw it in the sea. Maybe, one day, it will be polished ...
